                                                             Position Overview: 

Cellugy is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Director of Sales & Business Development to join our mission-driven team and spearhead our commercial success. This is your chance to leverage your deep industry knowledge (perhaps from personal care & beauty or other regulated industries) and formulation expertise to develop and execute initiatives that drive significant new business growth and shape the future of sustainable personal care and beauty products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales:
    • Define prospects, qualify, and convert leads into customers.
    • Excel customer centric mentality to create a more relevant, satisfying and reliable customer experience. Meet or exceed customer expectations.
    • Foster a partnership relationship with key distributors while demanding results through a structured, firm and supportive management. 
    • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at customers and in the beauty and personal care industry.
    • Develop and execute data-driven sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives.
    • Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
    • Participate in the preparation and update of revenue and gross margin projections.
  • Customer Support:
    • Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and distributors, providing ongoing support to ensure their needs are continually met or exceeded.
    • Gather and analyze customer and market feedback, identifying common pain/gain points, areas of improvement and new opportunities
    • Develop and deliver customer onboarding programs. This could involve creating training materials, FAQs, or conducting demonstration sessions to ensure customers have a smooth and successful start with Cellugy’s products. 
    • Collaborate with the technical support team to understand common customer issues and identify opportunities for product improvement or streamline support processes.
  • Market Expansion & Regulatory:
    • Collaborate with commercial and product teams to identify and qualify new business opportunities.
    • Develop and execute comprehensive roadmaps and plans encompassing partnerships, product launches, and sales.
    • Collaborate with the commercial team to develop promotional materials, campaigns, presentations, and strategies for new markets. 
    • Represent Cellugy at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events. 
    • Ensure Cellugy’s ingredients adhere to all applicable regulations, including the development and maintenance of safety and efficacy documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Business Management, or a related field. 
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in sales and business development or similar role within specialty ingredients, with for example experience from the personal care and beauty ingredients or related regulated industries.
  • A hands-on personality with a good understanding of bio science to effectively convey Cellugy’s product and technology platform to prospective customers (familiarity with ingredients like thickeners, stabilizers, emulsifiers, surfactants etc is a plus).
  • Experience with regulations and certifications relevant for the personal care and beauty or other regulated industries.
  • Strong business acumen and in depth technical understanding, coupled with effective presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and industry partners. 
  • A self-starting, highly motivated personality who thrives in a dynamic and culturally diverse startup environment.
  • Possibility to travel as required to meet with customers, distributors and attend industry events.
